Artist Introduction Pranoy Praveen is known for his organic approach to drums and his original perspective on sonic landscape movement. He is audaciously experimental with sounds and hence, draws inspiration not only from different genres of music but also from different forms of visual and performing arts. Starting his career as a drummer at the tender age of 9, he performed extensively and was part of various tours around the country. At the age of 10, Pranoy Praveen had already performed at 180 stages and was also teaching drumming to share and spread his unquenching passion for music. While still in school, Pranoy Praveen won over 30 competitions, interschool and others, and inevitably came to be noticed and appreciated by various professional musicians and music bands. In 2006 his band hUsh became the 4th band among 387bands from India where he was given the the youngest drummer award by the grammy winning band The Rasmus. Pranoy Praveen worked with various bands, across all different genres of music. He was only 17 years old, when he performed with one time Oscar & two times Grammy winning artist A.R.Rehman, at the Jai Ho Concert before 75,000 audience, in 2008 at Calicut/Kerala. |
Pranoy Praveen spent the early years of his youth in Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, Chennai, where his young mind experienced true artistic freedom to explore the wide variety of music and techniques under the able guidance of the various maestros from different parts of the world. Thereafter, he travelled across the nation collaborating and working with various musicians and performed at 34 different cities. He travelled to Srilanka to record the first Buddhist Oratorio and other orchestral pieces. He has also performed in Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Srilanka and China. His performances have been telecasted in various television channels like VH1 and Star World, and various radio stations like World Space Satellite Radio and has been featured in magazines like Vogue, FWD and various newspapers across Asia. He currently has a Youtube Channel which was selected as one amongTop 30 Drum Channels on YouTube in his initial first 5months. |
